IWSC Wine Trophy Honour!

The International Wine & Spirits Competition today revealed their 2023 Wine Trophy winners, following an additional blind tasting of all GOLD-medal winning wines by the IWSC Judging Committee.

We are thrilled to announce that our  Passel Estate 2018 Lot 71 Reserve Syrah was a Wine Trophy winner!

After meticulously tasting over 7,000 wines during the 2023 awards season, the IWSC judges gathered to crown 24 wines from 10 different countries as this year’s trophy winners.  The Margaret River Wine Region secured an impressive 4 wine trophies for its red wines, including ours, demonstrating once again the exceptional quality of winemaking in the region.

Congratulations to our accomplished winemakers, Bruce Dukes and Remi Guise on crafting this exquisite wine, which has already attracted outstanding scores from Australian wine experts, Ray Jordan (96 points) and Emma Farrelly (95 points) and is now adorned with this coveted IWSC Wine Trophy.

We’re delighted to announce that we also received a GOLD medal for the 21018 Lot 71 Reserve Syrah and three SILVER medals at this prestigious international wine competition, with the following tasting notes from the esteemed judges:

Passel Estate 2020 Chardonnay – 93 points
“Lanolin, preserved lemon and cashew nut reveal themselves on the nose, while the palate offers salted peach, saffron spice and a wonderful stone-like minerality. Rounded, soft and presenting fabulous typicity.”

Passel Estate 2017 Lot 71 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon – 91 points
“Tomato leaf, tapenade, black cherry and liquorice unite in this herbal, savoury example. Harmonious and elegant, with a refreshing red fruit undercurrent on the palate and firm, silky tannins. Delicious!”

Passel Estate 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (pre-release) – 93 points
“Savoury aromas of truffle and saline atop fresh berry notes with rich flavours of blueberry, bramble, and graphite. Focused and elegant with a long, concentrated finish.”
