Passel Estate has won The McCarthy Perpetual TROPHY for Best Sauvignon Blanc at the 2026 Sydney Royal Wine Show!

With a panel of esteemed judges and some of the finest palates in the country assessing almost 2000 entries each year, the Sydney Royal Wine Show is one of the most prestigious wine shows in Australia.

Celebrating 200 Years of the Sydney Royal Wine Show this year – and Passel Estate’s very first time entering the show – we could not be more honoured and excited to have won this coveted trophy.

Earning the highest class accolade for our 2023 Sauvignon Blanc from one of the most respected wine competitions in the country is a true milestone. This award is testament to our winemaking philosophy and stylistic preference for this classic white wine varietal.

As respected wine writer, Ray Jordan, noted when he awarded this wine 95 points in the West Australian Wine review:

“It’s fair to say that sometimes sauvignon blancs can be consumed just a little early, and in good seasons like 2023, when the fruit has balance with lovely pure, pristine acidity and all the fruits you want, a little extra time in the bottle will improve it immeasurably. In this case, it has done just that. On the nose, there’s passionfruit and stone fruit with some nice citrus and a subtle grassy edge, while the palate is really where this wine comes into its own. It’s layered and complex, and the use of just a small amount of French oak has brought it to life, adding both texture and complexity while not overdoing it. This is an excellent wine.”
