We are excited to introduce the 2015 Passel Estate Lot 71 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. This stunning wine had already won a GOLD medal (95 points) prior to release, at the Langton’s 2017 Margaret River Wine Show, and has since won another GOLD medal (95 points) in the Halliday Wine Companion Australia Cabernet Challenge 2017.
Showcasing our very best grapes, the 2015 Lot 71 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted from select parcels of fruit from a single block of original plantings on the estate. It was matured for an extended period of 19 months in the finest French oak, and then spent another year aging in bottle before release. With its ultra fine tannin structure, this wine will continue to mature gracefully and can be cellared for several years.
As only 130 cases were produced, this very special release is available exclusively to our Wine Club members and visitors to the Passel Estate Tasting Room.
Brooding aromas of graphite, blueberries, anise and red currant are flecked with hints of bay leaf, boysenberry and dried herbs. An effortless entry and primal blue and black fruit flavours introduce a coating palate of cocoa-nib, gravel and liquorice, guided by a tensile core of super-fine-grained tannin and poised fruit textures. A tactile ascent to the finish leaves the palate firm, engaged and vital, drenched in fruit and saturated in bristling cherry skin texture.
