To mark Passel Estate wines arriving for the first time in the UK, The Wine Merchant Magazine had a chat with founder, Wendy Stimpson for The Winemaker Files in the January 2023 edition.
“Passel: The collective noun for the Australian possum. It is also the name of an exciting young Margaret River estate, whose wines are arriving in the UK for the first time, imported by Frederick’s Wine Company”
Read the interview below to learn how Wendy and Barry followed their dreams to acquire the property and create Passel Estate.
Wendy shares their philosophy for Passel Estate and her thoughts on how the “christmas cake” soils, the viticulture and winemaking teams, and the overall terroir combine to make Passel Estate’s single-vineyard Margaret River wines so special.
“Our philosophy is to make wines that are the purest expression of our ‘passion paradise’” says Wendy.
“Margaret River’s terroir isn’t just about the soil beneath our feet, it’s also the local community.”
