Save the Date: Join the owners of Passel Estate for a morning of nature conservation on Thursday 30th May 2019

Nature Conservation at Passel Estate

We are very happy to report that our Nature Conservation Morning last year and planting of native tube stocks was very successful, with most of the young plants now well established.  We have noticed an increase in the number of birds and other native creatures living in our reserve, and preparations are underway for the imminent soft release of more Western Ringtail Possums into the sanctuary.

There is still, however, a great deal of work to do to rehabilitate the creek line and strengthen the natural bushland habitat, to enhance the conservation ecosystem and create an ever more ideal environment for our critically endangered Western Ringtail Possums as well as the other native species that live on the estate.

Once again, we are inviting friends and volunteers to join the owners, Wendy and Barry, on Thursday 30th May 2019, from 10.00am to 1.00pm, to lend your support to creating the best environment for our local fauna, by helping to plant a further 500 of tube stocks of a variety of native plants beneficial to our native wildlife. Your efforts will be rewarded with a light lunch at the Tasting Room, which you may wish to enjoy with a complimentary glass of Passel Estate wine.

Please wear protective shoes and appropriate clothing for the bush and be prepared for wet weather on the day. Gloves and trowels will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own favourites if you prefer, and please remember to bring your own water bottle.

Volunteers are requested to register before 28th May, by emailing tastingroom@passelestate.com or calling +618 9717 6241, as numbers are strictly limited to ensure a safe and enjoyable morning for everybody.
