We have made significant progress over the summer months, eradicating non-native and invasive weeds from the bushland sanctuary at Passel Estate. We are now ready to commence the first stage of planting and revegetation, to create a more ideal environment for the critically endangered Western Ringtail Possums that have been released, as well as the other native species that live in our reserve.
Tube stocks of a variety of native plants beneficial to our native wildlife have been carefully selected to help rehabilitate the creek line and bushland corridors, to re-establish the remnant bushland, and enhance the conservation ecosystem across the estate.
We are inviting friends and volunteers to join the owners, Wendy and Barry, on Thursday 24th May 2018, from 10.00am to 1.00pm, to lend your support to creating the best environment for our local fauna, by helping to plant almost 500 of these tube stocks. Your efforts will be rewarded with a light lunch at the Tasting Room, which you may wish to enjoy with a complimentary glass of Passel Estate wine.
Please wear protective shoes and appropriate clothing for the bush and be prepared for wet weather on the day. Gloves and trowels will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own favourites if you prefer, and please remember to bring your own water bottle.
Volunteers are requested to register before 21st May, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling +618 9717 6241, as numbers are strictly limited to ensure a safe and enjoyable morning for everybody.
