Passel Estate has won not just one, but two Silver medals at the Prestigious Global Cabernet Sauvignon Masters in London!
The Global Wine Masters highlight exceptional winemaking from around the world. Judged by a distinguished panel of Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, and senior buyers, the awards are among the most respected in the industry.
We are thrilled that both our 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon and our 2017 Lot 71 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon have been recognised by this rigorous judging panel as among the world’s best! 🍷
Here are the judges tasting notes for our fine, single-vineyard cabernets:
Passel Estate 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon: “This wine presents an inviting nose of luscious blackcurrant and red cherry, complemented by subtle hints of mint and wintergreen. On the palate, it reveals a rich and dense texture, with well-integrated oak that adds depth without overwhelming the fruit. The tannins are full yet refined, showcasing a ripe character that avoids over-ripeness.”
Passel Estate 2017 Lot 71 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon: “This wine presents an attractive bouquet of plum, blackcurrant, and blackberry, complemented by a subtle yet appealing oak influence that is well-integrated on the palate. It demonstrates a commendable structure with fine tannins and a satisfying length. The palate reveals a slightly chewy texture, with hints of baked fruit. Notably, there is a rustic charm, characterised by a delicate dusty quality that adds complexity. The finish is elegantly poised, featuring a gentle hum of vanilla oak that brightens the finish.”
