New Chardonnay Block

If you have visited our Tasting Room recently and looked out across the dam, you may have noticed our newly planted Chardonnay Block.  This comprises 2.7ha of Chardonnay vines (a 50/50 split of the Gin Gin and Dijon 95 clones), planted in some of the best soils on the estate.

The Gin Gin clone is what Margaret River is most famous for, producing wines of generous fruit flavours and intensity; whereas the Dijon 95 clone is known for its more ethereal, savoury and mineral characters.  We believe that the two clones will contribute beautifully to our future wines, although we will not see the ‘fruits’ of our labour (pardon the pun) for a few years.
