2020 Passel Estate Sauvignon Blanc

2020 Passel Estate Sauvignon Blanc

2020 Sauvignon Blanc

Margaret River, Western Australia

Lemon zest, white pear and nectarine, bolstered by subtle French oak, medium bodied, silky texture and long flavours.

From $32.00 per bottle

    Description

Tasting Notes: Lemon grass, white pear and a touch of brioche introduce an elegant and focused wine. Fine lines of pure white fruit tannin and bristling natural acidity merge to form a lengthy and flavoursome palate, laced with hints of gooseberries, meringue and white stone fruit. Drink now for freshness or be rewarded with cellaring.

Winemaking Notes: Our Sauvignon Blanc fruit was harvested in the early hours of the morning and immediately cold crushed to press, where the juice was separated from the skin. The juice was cold settled for 2-3 days before being racked and fermented in stainless steel and new French oak barrels (20%). The oaked portion was combined with the portion in stainless steel after fermentation, where the wine was matured on the fine lees with bâttonage occurring fortnightly for 5 months. The wine received a light fining prior to filtration and was then bottled with all-natural acidity.

    Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Real Review
“Ultra-pale in appearance, this Margaret River sauvignon opens subtle and complex, with aromas of citrus fruits, tarragon and green nectarine, a gentle thread of oak tracking through it. It's mouth-filling and flavoursome, with a fresh lemony tang to keep it appetising. Easy to like.”

Ray Jordan, The West Australian Wine Review 2023
"Really like the combination of intense and super concentrated savvy with that light touch of oak. It provides an engaging and already complex palate. Citrus and juicy stone fruit on the nose. Palate is brimming with juicy ripe fruit held with tight control by that light oak influence and the crisp acidity. Long refreshing finish. A little time in bottle has brought out its best features."
