Passel Estate Featured in The Vintage Journal Margaret River Wine Guide 2024

Internationally recognised Master of Wine, Andrew Caillard, has just published his Margaret River Wine Guide 2024 for The Vintage Journal and we are very proud to once again be featured in it with a trio of stellar 95 Point reviews.

Andrew Caillard MW is a former wine auctioneer and widely respected fine wine expert with a specialist knowledge in Australian wine. The Vintage Journal is a collaboration between Andrew Caillard MW and Angus Hughson PhD, published primarily for the fine wine industry and wine collectors.

The Vintage Journal Margaret River Wine Guide is a fascinating and in-depth account of our famous wine region, from its beginnings through to the current producers and wines that make it what it is today. We recommend settling down to read it with a glass of one of Passel Estate’s fine Margaret River wines recommended by Andrew below.

Passel Estate 2020 Chardonnay: 95 Points
Pale colour, fresh white peach, apricot aromas with vanilla, hint brine, flinty aromas.  Creamy and filling with attractive stone fruit flavours, fine al dente textures, and fresh long acidity.  Has developed really well with a seamless quality.  Drink now – keep for a while.

Passel Estate 2018 Lot 71 Reserve Syrah: 95 Points
Medium-deep crimson.  Lovely complex blackberry, mocha, roasted chestnut aromas with pepper notes. Richly flavoured, smooth and velvety with inky dark berry fruits, peppery notes, some underlying mocha, fine supple tannins and fresh long acidity.  Finishes form with a touch of liquorice. Drink now – 2030.”

Passel Estate 2017 Lot 71 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon: 95 Points
“Medium-deep crimson.  Attractive blackcurrant, sesame, praline, hint espresso aromas and flavours.  Well concentrated and balanced wine with plentiful cedar-y firm tannins, mid palate volume and new oak.  Lovely complexity and drive. Drink now – keep for a while.”
