Wine Club Invitation: A Guided Journey through successive vintages of our Cabernet Sauvignon

Join Passel Estate owner, Barry Stimpson and Head Winemaker, Bruce Dukes, for a vertical presentation of Passel Estate’s Cabernet Sauvignon. You will be guided through a tasting of back vintages from our inaugural 2015 release up to the current vintage.

Passel Estate’s single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunning expression of Margaret River’s signature varietal and we have been privileged to receive a number of prestigious awards and gold medals each year for this beautiful wine.

Bruce and Barry will guide you through the evolution of this fine and aromatic red wine as you taste and compare four consecutive releases including our inaugural 2015 Passel Estate Lot 71 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from the museum stocks.

A welcome glass preview of our 2020 Passel Estate Sauvignon Blanc prior to its release in the Spring and a light selection of charcuterie to complement the wines will round out the experience.

As a valued member of our wine club, you are warmly invited to bring up to three guests and join us in an exclusive vertical tasting of this outstanding wine. There will also be an opportunity on the day to purchase museum and back vintages (while stocks last) with your wine club discount.

2017 Passel Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
96 Points, Jeni Port, Wine Pilot
“A fine-featured cabernet with Margaret River class written all over it. It’s one of those wines you just want to inhale over and over, taking in the sheer aromatic pleasure of it all. Where to start? Black fruits first up of the blackberry and blackcurrant kind, ripe and concentrated. There’s camphor, vanilla, cinnamon, too, lifted and engaging… Rolls across the tongue supported by velvety, fine tannins with a terrific depth of flavour meting out black berries, a gentle leafiness with an earthy allure. An added spicy touch of anise lifts. Classic shades of Margaret River cabernet and will age a treat.”

2016 Passel Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
90 Points, Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate :
“Thyme and sage accent cassis in the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. This is archetypal Margaret River Cabernet, from its classic flavour profile to the supple, medium-bodied feel on the palate and through to the mouth-watering finish. The oak treatment is subtle, serving just to support and round out the herb and berry flavors. Nicely done.”

2015 Passel Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
95 Points, Halliday Wine Companion
“Passel Estate has quickly established a distinct house style, with fine-grained tannins derived from both the fruit and the new oak woven through the medium-bodied palate. The bouquet is entirely at one with the palate, blackcurrant/cassis to the fore, elegance derived from the timing of the harvest. Throw in the perfect balance and say no more.”

2015 Passel Estate Lot 71 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
96 Points, Halliday Wine Companion
“From a single estate block, ‘just split’ berries cool-fermented in tank, matured in French oak (66% new) for 19 months with a further 12 months in bottle before release. There is an inevitability to its progression from the bouquet thence to the way it travels along the palate, waves of fruit advancing and retreating before the high tension of fine-grained cabernet tannins take control.”
