As the mercury dips in Australia’s South West, we celebrate the release of our brand new 2018 Passel Estate Shiraz vintage, which has already received 91 points and a silver ribbon from leading Australian wine critic and journalist, Huon Hooke of The Real Review.
Mr Hooke tasted our 2018 Shiraz pre-release and provided this glowing review:
“Deep, dark red colour with a trace of purple. Very ripe black fruit and bresaola aromas, the palate is rich and soft, rounded and medium to full-bodied, with good depth of dark spices and blackberry and earth, with a finely-textured and satisfying finish.”
We couldn’t agree more! This wine is from a perfect Margaret River vintage due to the solid winter rains and ideal growing conditions, followed by a gentle summer which allowed for gradual ripening to produce fruit of amazing clarity.
Our own tasting notes for this beautiful wine reflect the aromas of poached plums, black pepper and meat spice. The palate is broad and voluptuous, dripping in black fruits and fine red tannin. Flavours of rhubarb, all-spice and black berries are persistent through to the finish, savoury and steeped in graphite.

Margaret River’s renowned master chocolatier, Nadia Haskell of Harlequin Dessert, has just created a new bespoke bon bon to complement this 2018 vintage Shiraz, featuring miso, wakame seaweed, white pepper and caramel.
