Celebration of La Joie: A Sparkling New Release!

Raise your glasses as Passel Estate prepares to celebrate a brand-new release this summer, to complete our small range of single-vineyard fine wines from the heart of Margaret River.

‘La Joie’ is a vintage sparkling wine made from chenin blanc in the traditional French method and the classic Crémant style; it is Passel Estate’s first sparkling wine.

The grapes were picked at the perfect time to retain their natural acidity, then underwent regular bâtonnage for added complexity before being bottled for second fermentation in the bottle. The wine was then matured on the lees for a further year before being disgorged and a small dosage added for perfect balance.

A bouquet of freshly cut white pear, subtle brioche, shaved almonds and sea-spray. A fine and focused entry on the palate of natural acidity with flavours of grapefruit and white nectarine leads to a feather-light finish of crushed granite and freshly whipped cream, carried forth by an ultra-fine mousse.

This elegant sparkling wine was conceived by owners, Wendy and Barry as an expression of life’s joyful moments.
